Yacht Modeling as an 'art form' has been done for centuries. There is a great amount of interest in modeling today both as a hobby and profession. There is great interest in modeling in many differing fields and at all levels of detail. Whatever level of quality is being produced, modeling provides most people a break from the stresses of everyday life, a trend which I believe is increasing due to changes in the workplace and our society today. We are very fortunate to be able to make this avocation our vocation and we welcome your visit to our shop.

Professional modeling is a unique niche which requires years of experience and a vast variety of acquired skills to produce acceptable quality models. At Robert H. Eddy & Associates, this type of workmanship is being produced by Rob Eddy.

Due to the intense level of detail and the vast number of hours required to complete a model, a division of labor has been uniquely structured so Rob can excel in his area of expertise with greater focus. At times he has been joined by other craftsmen, jewelers and apprentices. Presently, all model-building work is done primarily by Rob.

Robert H. Eddy

Rob Eddy has been building models all his life. Starting with building Revelle plastic models, to die-cast automobiles kits, and later on constructing custom models of yachts and architectural display models. Aside from the many self-taught skills, Rob's work focuses on the overall job, documentation of the vessel, drafting, computer design, and wood and metal working. Rob's education was obtained at Nasson College and Wentworth Institute in Boston, Ma.

This is a very general overview of the many skills necessary to produce these" works of art", treasured by their owners and their future generations. We invite you to view our pages representing some of the works we have completed, and are in progress with. We hope you will find our web pages interesting and also a useful resource for materials, suppliers and other model builders in our directory.
