the finished hull. Final paint
job to the topsides and boot-top
will happen in the spring of 1997.
The plating seams are not evident
in this photo but they have been
put in position on the hull. They
are important in reflecting the
fact that the model represents
a steel plated hull.
Actual model cockpit
The sub-assembly of the cockpit
is located in position on the deck
of model. The photo on the right
from page 2 is shown for reference.
The main decks will be individually
planked when all the deckhouse
structures are completed, and the
finalpaint jobs are complete.
We
have been very busy building the
many gold fittings which make up
hundreds of very small details. At
some point I will photograph the
parts with a set up on the deck of
the model. However, it is better
they remain in their plastic bags
so they don't get handled too much
and get misplaced. Also underway
is the 12' sailing dinghy, the 'Wizard'.
It is 3 inches long in model scale.
