Foredeck area showing main saloon deckhouse and the crew hatchway deckhouse. The fore gaff and staysail boom and windlass are positioned on deck.

Here is a better angle on the foredeck showing the placement of the anchors. The anchors are 622# anchors. The models are made from sterling silver, sandblasted and then rhodium plated. This gives them the look of galvanized steel anchors.

At this point, September 19th, 1997, we are within two months from completing the model. The decks are at the halfway point from being complete. Once they are complete we will be able to have the spars stepped and the rigging will begin.

We have many miscellaneous parts built. We have had to make around 120 blocks of various sizes as well. All blocks have some combination of bails, beckets and shackles which seem endless to make. We wish we could at time just walk over to the stockroom and pick them off the shelves. Oh well! That is the ideal world of make believe! The final stage will come together quickly in the end.
