Piper
is a 35' power boat designed by Spencer Lincoln
and built as a Duffy 35'. This hull is still
being built but under the company name of the Atlantic
Boat Company in Brookline, Maine. We were asked to
build this model in 2003 and it was completed in February
of 2004. This model took 710 hour to build. The scale
was ¾"=1'-0".
The
model was 26.5" long with a beam of 9”.
We carved a wood plug both port and starboard sides
and the model hull was built as a fiberglass shell.
There was computer drawing involved in the project
as so little drawing information was available.
As a result, the superstructure could be exported
for laser cutting.
All
the metal parts were fabricated at the shop. They
were built from yellow and white gold. The model
is very appreciated by the family as they have
had many family fun times aboard this boat.
